Good morning, Hank…
So, I did a thing. I created this storyboard for my Character Animation MA application portfolio to the University of the Arts London. I found out about a week ago that I got accepted (hooray!) and thought I would share.
I was inspired by this Vlogbrothers’ video, in which Hank interviews his and John’s parents. In the video, Mr. Dad Green tells this adorable story of little John being at an airport (surprise, surprise) and having a bit of a fit, for lack of better word. Dad Green explains John as just falling on his back and being melodramatic.
I decided to add the sibling rivalry for plot reasons. I made Hank a baby for cute reasons.
I had planned on making this into a bigger piece (I played with the idea of a board featuring John walking in on Hank teething on his copy of ‘The Great Gatsby’) but for now, this is all I have.
I hope you like it and don’t forget to be awesome.

I had a sculpture/ceramics teacher in high school who once told me “It doesn’t matter how good or bad, how realistic or abstract, or how detailed or blocky your artwork is, if it pisses someone off, you’re doing it well.”
